I decided to not wait for Vin and to take the boys and get ourselves a tree before he came home. I enticed them into good behavior with the promise of a visit to Santa afterwards. And, surprisingly, not a single face was punched or body shoved clear across the room so to Santa we did go.

Atticus keeps asking me why there aren't any presents under the 'Christmas blanket'. Because Mommy doesn't want to stand guard over them 24 hours and day and tell you 6 million times a day that, no, you may not open them.

The little girl next door asked if Odus could come over to play last weekend. I dropped him off before my riding lessons and gave them a key so they could return him when her dad had enough of him they had to go out. Atticus was pretty sure they'd just keep him and he wouldn't be able to see his (very tolerant) cat again. But when we came home Odus was eagerly (he may have another word for it...) waiting for his boy to return.

And this one was (and still is) feeling rather ill and was even too tired to throw a fit when I put him down and took his boots off (this is unheard of, it must always be 'SELF!')

The foot-licker. Despite all my hard work (washing his feet in special shampoo, Gold Bond, shoes, exercise to keep his mind occupied) he still continues to annoy me with his constant foot licking. His feet get too hot with the shoes on (which only makes the problem worse); he can also take them off, or he'll just opt to chew on his legs just above the shoes. The sound of his slurpy licks is enough to make me want to stab myself in the eye with a sharp stick. So, in order for me not to lose my mind, I make him wear his satellite dish if he even thinks about licking his feet. He's learning.

He's learning, too.

Popcorn night at Mom and Dad's. Keaton in the back on the left, then Micah, Cameron, Atticus...Zayda in front beside Dillon. It was very evident who got along with who (whom?). And it was NOT Atticus and Micah. Definitely not them. But match either of those two with any of the other kids and it was all fun and games. But Atti and Micah was a very physical grouping. To say the least.

A farewell 'ring around the rosey'. Cute hat, Keaton.
